This calculator keeps its arithmetic simple and visible. It multiplies the yearly amounts you enter by the number of years in each projection. The lifetime projection runs from your current age to age 79, the average life expectancy in the United States (CDC National Center for Health Statistics, 2024 data). All figures are in today’s dollars with no inflation applied, so your real-world eyewear spending over those years is likely to be higher than the estimate shown.
Projected spending = (glasses per year + contacts per year) × years.
Break-even point = procedure price ÷ your combined yearly spending, rounded up to the next year. After that year, every additional year of glasses and contacts is money the procedure would have saved.
Procedure prices are the current fees published on our financing page: Wavefront Optimized LASIK $4,100 for both eyes, WaveLight® Plus LASIK $5,100 for both eyes, and the EVO ICL™ $9,450 all-inclusive. Prices are subject to change, and your exact fee is confirmed at your consultation. Refractive lens exchange is not listed because that fee depends on the lens chosen for your eyes, which is personalized at consultation.

Cost is one input in a much larger decision. Candidacy depends on your anatomy: corneal thickness, prescription strength and stability, your age, and the health of your natural lens. LASIK is typically for stable prescriptions with healthy, adequately thick corneas. The EVO ICL™ removes no corneal tissue, so thin corneas are not a barrier, and it is reversible, which preserves your lens options for later in life.
